Contest: Sexy Side Dish!

An impromptu contest! The story I'm writing demands a sexy side dish! I already have asparagus-can't go wrong with an aphrodisiac vegetable that's also a phallic symbol. *cackle* But I need one more. Something else phallic or something where finger sucking...er, licking is involved. The main course is set as is the dessert but I need one more side dish to round out the meal. Before the other main course kicks in... *wink*

Contest prize! You get credit in the acknowledgements for the recipe suggestion and a copy of the ebook when it comes out! Post your suggestions in the comments to enter.

Fair warning--of course it's a gay romance! *cackle*

I need the recipes by Monday night (8PM Central).

You know, there's nothing quite like an ice cream cone or an ice cream sundae ... a little lick here and there and, well - everywhere.

besides, when it starts to drip, the fun can really start!

There's always the strawberries dipped in chocolate syrup, licking the syrup lightly off your lips or your partner's lips but I like the banana. You can suck on it a popsickle, score it lighly with your teeth - in and out, in and out. lol

How about HONEY GLAZED BABY CARROTS

2-3 cups small baby carrots (pre-peeled)
1/2 cup butter
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
fresh minced parsley and/or chives

In a medium skillet, melt butter. Add brown sugar, honey, nutmeg and cinnamon; mix together. Add Carrots. Cover; cook on medium low to medium heat for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. When finished cooking, the carrots should be firm, not mushy.

Remove from skillet and sprinkle with fresh parsley and/or chives. Serve.

Mashed potatoes can be shaped to look like all kinds of things, and licked slowly off the fork...

When in doubt- ask a gay man!I went to my secret source to find out what your [men] would really prefer!! Here's what 'he' said, "Raw or firm cooked carrots with a nice (not yellow) cream sauce. Arti'choke' brings some 'thoughts' to mind for him. (I told him I didn't want to know!)" Oh, and he said to emphasize the 'choke' part? LOL He also mentioned looking into some of the fungus foods! Although I don't think I'd mention 'fungus' in the wip! LOL

It may not seem like an aphrodisiac but corn on the cob does have it's possibilities as you pour melted butter over it and place those cute little corn holders in the ends and start nibbling while your lips are glistening with the butter.....

How about caviar, oysters or fois gras. Oh, and a good bottle of wine.

What about Tabloi? It's suppose to be wrapped in flat bread and eaten with fingers. It's messy, so plenty of little crumbs to lick of the mouth and fingers!

My side-dish suggestion is pasta with alfredo sauce. Creamy sauce on long strands of pasta that always leave tendrils that need to be sucked into the mouth through pursed lips, perhaps leaving a little bit of schmutz that needs to be wiped or kissed away by an obliging partner. Denise G

Maybe you should have a bread bowl to go with the asparagus appetizer. The bread could be "subtly" shaped like these. Or a tray of carrot sticks with two cherry tomatoes fastened to the "base" using a toothpick, then served with ranch dip....

Thank you, everyone, for the fabulous ideas! Too bad I couldn't use them all. Although, I'm saving the comments for future reference. Other manuscripts could use a little foodie love! *cackle*

The winner of the contest is Calisa with her artichoke suggestion. Calisa, please contact me at shaylakersten@yahoo.com as soon as possible. I need to verify your name for the acknowledgments!

This is late (since we've already talked) but thank you Shayla! It was fun and winning, no matter the prize, is a hoot!
