Literary agent Colleen Lindsay posted an article on her blog about an elderly gay couple who were separated by a hospital in Sonoma County. In spite of having all the legal paperwork completed so they could have visitation, medical directives, etc. for each other, the county kept them apart, placing them in separate nursing homes and confiscating and selling all their joint property. One of the men died without his partner by his side. The other lost being part of the last few months of his lover's life.
Horrifying the extent of man's inhumanity to man...

Yeah, I read that over at TeddyPig's this morning. I couldn't decide whether to cry or scream. WTF. :(
I cried. And every time I think about it, I start again. Like now. I don't understand why people need to be cruel. I just don't get it.
Me, either. If this had happened to a heterosexual couple, the public outrage would be so big. It's seriously f*ed up.
That is so sad. It hurts to see how people will go out of their way to hurt others. I'm sorry to see stories like this.
I just can't believe how cruel people can be to others...this is just totally unjust and unbelieveable wrong what they've done to this couple. It's so sad that stuff like this is still happening in this day and age....when will bigotry and discrimination end? what a senseless tragedy.
I'm speechless. Utterly, utterly speechless. How can people treat others like this? I just don't understand. Morally, ethically, legally, it's just f*cking wrong!
